Initial trials showed the ability of identifying pathological lesions using visible light
waves, unlike the existing methods of imaging. This innovative and affordable
technology provides low cost and broad access for early detection of colon cancer,
which is the second most common cancer according to the World Health
Organization. Early detection increases considerably likelihood of cure.
5.Discussion
A 2-D prototype was built using an Arduino Uno controller containing LED lightings,
sensors, and a Bluetooth platform. The printed circuit was designed in
collaboration with Rafael Halfon, and produced in China.
